Pacific Waves Inn, Baler

It was a week before our Baler trip and we still have no confirmed booking for our accommodations during the weekend. I was afraid we’d run out of cheap places to stay there because the other inns were already fully booked but fortunately, Brenna was able to secure our group a room big enough for all of us at Pacific Waves Inn along Sabang Beach in Baler.

EXPECTATION VS. REALITY

“Pernes! It’s not as bad as I expected” is what I said the  trike dropped us outside the inn. It looked decent and clean and we were able to book it for a very good price. P2,100 for a room good for 6 people, P150 per additional pax and extra mattresses, which leaves us to P2,400. Split that into 8 and we will be shelling out P300 each for an overnight stay for an air conditioned room. Pwede na!

Since there weren’t any photos or info about the place online, we didn’t really know what to expect. Because of the price, I assumed that the place would be quite dirty and rustic. So we were quite happy with the room and their service. There’s a kitchen on the first floor where guests can cook their food, extra shower areas can also be found there.

We were even more delighted when we opened the doors to our room as a sweet scent greeted our nostrils. They have this incense thing at one side of the room with scented oils and shiz. The room was simple and clean, and we couldn’t ask for anything else… except extra beds which they provided. Free WiFi is also available and the connection speed is quite decent.

I immediately checked the bathroom as well. Hot and cold shower, check. Clean toilet and sink, check. Spotless tiles, check. Hot surfer inside, no check. =(

We were given the only room at the second floor and a nice view of the beach came as a complimentary gift to us. The balcony was spacious enough for all of us to hang out during socials at night. With a clear view of the beach and the cloudy sky, we settled down and waited for our tour guides to pick us up.

ON LOCATION

Pacific Waves is conveniently located at the beach front, but far from all the other inns and restaurants. Since I prefer some peace and quiet, I didn’t mind walking for a few minutes to make our way to the restaurants and surf clinics that are huddled together at the center of Sabang Beach. The good thing is we got a particular area of the beach all to ourselves and we didn’t have to fight our way through any competing surfers or beach goers!

We were suposed to check out  at 11:00 AM but asked to have it extended to 2:00 PM and the additional charge for the extension only costed us P150 for the entire group.

All in all, we have no complaints with Pacific Waves Inn. Like the laid back town of Baler, we had a very relaxing and no-hassle experience, plus Ms. Rosita was very friendly.

Kalurks. Parang hindi naman ganun kataas yung waves nung andun kami. Maybe depending on the season and where exactly sa baler.
